After Redirect Pro detects 404 broken links, you can create 301 redirects for them to maintain your SEO rankings.
To redirect a broken link:
- From your Shopify admin, open the Redirect Pro app.
- From the app navigation menu on the left, open the Broken Links page.
- Select one or more 404 URLs in the table (either the Unresolved table or the Hidden table).
- On the action menu, click Create redirect.
- Enter a Redirect to URL.
- Click the Redirect button. Once processed, your redirect(s) will appear in the URL Redirects page.
If you redirect several 404s at once, it may take a while for them to be processed. They'll appear on the URL Redirects page when complete.
How do I resolve an error message when redirecting 404s?
If you see a 'Sorry, it looks like something went wrong' error message when trying to redirect a broken link, it's likely this broken link has already been redirected outside of the broken links page.
Visit the URL Redirects page and search for the URL. If you find an existing redirect for the broken link, you can come back and delete it from the table of Broken Links.
