If you're migrating to Shopify or you just have several 301 redirects to create, you can save time by importing your URL redirects in bulk by using a spreadsheet.
â
To prepare your redirects for importing:
Before importing your 301 redirects, you need to add them to a spreadsheet using your preferred program (e.g. Excel or Google Sheets).
Redirect from | Redirect to |
/old-page | /new-page |
- Replicate the table above in your spreadsheet, or download our Google Sheets template.
- Add Redirect from URLs in the first column (column A).
- Add Redirect to URLs in the second column (column B), so each row represents one redirect.
- Once complete, save or export the spreadsheet as a '.csv' file.
- Excel: File > Export > Change File Type > CSV (Comma delimited) > Save As
- Google Sheets: File > Download > comma-separated values (.csv)
- Your .csv spreadsheet is now ready to be imported in Redirect Pro.
Tâo import your redirects:
Once your .csv spreadsheet file is ready, you can import your 301 redirects in Redirect Pro.
- From your Shopify admin, open the Redirect Pro app.
- From the app navigation menu on the left, open the Import Redirects page.
- Click the Import redirects button.
- Name your import for later reference.
- Click the Add file button.
- Select your .csv file.
- Click Import. The redirects will now be processing.
Note: For large files, it may take some time to complete the import. You can continue working and we'll send you an email when it's done.
If Redirect Pro won't accept your import file, you can learn how to resolve this.
To review your completed import:
After it's complete you'll receive an email and you'll be able to see a summary of your import on the Import Redirects page, under the Past Imports section.
If your summary shows some redirects failed to import, you can learn why these redirects couldn't be created.
